Features and benefits

  • Standard steel drill bodies are designed for inserts with 41° and 45° chamfers.

  • These insert combinations require that the steel body be altered to provide insert coverage.

Grades

  • CD3
  • CS5

    Composition: PVD TiN-coated grade with a sub-micron grain, straight carbide
    substrate containing 9.5% cobalt.
    Application: General purpose grade for drilling, countersinking, and counterboring
    operations in most steels, cast irons, and heat-resistant alloys. Good balance of
    toughness and wear resistance to provide all-around reliability.

  • KM1

    Composition: Uncoated, fine grain, straight carbide grade, containing 6% cobalt.
    Application: General purpose grade for use on gray iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous
    work piece materials. Available for use with HTS-C deep drilling tools and CTR
    countersinking tools.
